TM Counsel in this position will support global marketing clients on key global marketing and advertising campaigns with global scope and is one of the primary business and legal counselors accountable for delivery of trade mark legal services to these clients. We require a candidate with 10 years of experience in domestic/international IP matters with expert knowledge and focus on trade mark practice and procedure. Corporate in-house experience and knowledge of copyright are desirable.Function Related Activities / Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with outside counsel by communicating objectives, providing strategic direction and providing ongoing information and support in order to meet expectations and achieve Company objectives.Partner as co-counsel with outside counsel to represent clients and/or achieve objectives.Protect information and materials provided to third parties (e.g., consultants, vendors, suppliers, bottlers) by ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and parties are bound by Company confidentiality agreements as necessary.Review work products of outside counsel to ensure product quality and met expectations.Identify, classify, maintain, and protect files, documentation and sensitive information consistent with record handling and retention requirements.Provide legal/tax and/or business advice to associates with respect to day-to-day operations.Manage outside counsel costs and approve fee statements.Provide legal/tax and/or business advice to senior management regarding significant obligations, risks and opportunities.Identify and engage appropriate outside counsel to perform services for the matter.Develop legal subject matter expertise in relevant practice area(s).Education: Juris Doctor degree requiredRelated Work Experience: At least 5 years relevant work experienceLeadership Behaviors:Drive Innovation: Generate new or unique solutions and embrace new ideas that help sustain our business (encompassing everything from continuous improvement to new product and package innovation)Collaborate with System and Stakeholders: Develop and leverage relationships with stakeholders to appropriately stretch and impact the System (Company and Bottler)Act Like an Owner: Deliver results, creating value for our brands, our System, our customers and key stakeholdersInspire Others: Inspire people to deliver our mission and 2020 Vision, demonstrate passion for the business and give people a reason to believe anything is possibleDevelop Self and Others: Develop self and support others development to achieve full potentialGrowth Behaviors:Growth Mindset: Demonstrates Curiosity.
