State Bar of Texas Attorney Compliance Program Administrator in Austin, Texas
Administers the Attorney Compliance Program for the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel. This position involves frequent contact with Complainants, Respondent attorneys and their counsel, other departments and regional offices of the State Bar of Texas, the public, and other individuals and organizations outside the State Bar.
Review, monitor and obtain compliance with terms and conditions set forth in final disciplinary judgments statewide.
Testify in disciplinary matters before grievance committees, district court and BODA regarding attorney non-compliance.
Prepare and maintain physical and database files on all pending compliance matters, regularly update such files and calendar all pending compliance matters.
Communicate both orally and in writing with respondent attorneys regarding failure to meet judgment terms and determine appropriate next measures.
Monitor attorneys’ status and eligibility to practice; coordinate processing of membership status changes and report membership status changes to the Supreme Court.
Collect, process and record all restitution and attorney fees payments and coordinate restitution payments to Complainants.
Communicate frequently with CDC staff regarding compliance issues, training, client security fund and related matters.
Collects and compiles complex statistical information for reporting purposes and prepares quarterly reports for Regional Counsel.
Perform other responsibilities as required.
Bachelor’s degree required. Five years of related work experience required that includes high-volume oral and written communications with individuals internal and external to an organization. Requires extensive knowledge and experience with personal computer software and database systems including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
