IBM Contracts & Negotiations Manager in Austin, Texas

The ideal candidate should be able to:

  • Participate in and lead contract negotiations with customers (i.e., renegotiations, extensions, terminations and new business)

  • Draft and negotiate contract amendments which accurately reflect required modifications to existing contracts

  • Answer complex contract questions and provide contract interpretations

  • Assist and advise the business on complex client disputes, including data security and data privacy related issues

  • Identify and mitigate issues and risks, as well as assess the impact of alternative courses of action

  • Provide sound and well reasoned commercial and contract guidance to the IBM business and other internal functions based upon established policies, guidelines and professional judgment

  • Develop working relationships with key internal stakeholders, as well as with IBM's clients and their third party advisors

  • Communicate effectively and negotiate with all levels (professional to executive) of internal and external clients

  • Apply creative thinking to solve problems

  • Be self-motivated and able to learn on the job with assistance

  • Be detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task

  • Practice well-developed oral and written communication skills

  • Manage own portfolio of accounts and work within a team

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 2 years experience in related and/or transferable contracts work,

  • Ability to perform this role with English fluency
