*General Description*

General Summary:

The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting the PI and Project Coordinator in Informatics Core activities for an observational study of individuals with a first-degree relative with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. This study measures cognitive and biological biomarkers as predictors of onset of dementia. The Research Assistant will also provide assistance for activities related to a multi-center randomized trial of participants with Alzheimer’s disease.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Complete data entry of study data collection forms in web-based data system.

•Communicate with the Clinical Cores/centers via telephone, memoranda, letters, and email.

•Prepare standard reports for the Clinical Core.

•Prepare materials for study-wide or committee meetings.

•Assist with quality control procedures, including auditing and other database quality control procedures.

•Assist with preparation of graphs and tables for written and oral presentations.

•Participate in study meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and some related experience in clinical research, preferably related to epidemiological studies. Proficiency in various computer software programs, including Word, Excel, EndNote, and PowerPoint.Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

*JHU Equivalency Formula: *30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one (1) year experience in clinical research, and demonstrated experience in dissemination of information through written communication.
