National Bankruptcy Services, LLC Entry-Level Bankruptcy Specialist in Dallas, Texas

SUMMARY: The Bankruptcy Specialist will monitor and audit bankruptcy accounts for delinquency and advance the file as appropriate. They will also handle special monitoring bankruptcy work queues and case specific mail.


  • Audit bankruptcy files for application of payments to determine current or delinquent post-petition status

  • Audit escrow, taxes, insurance and client suspense accounts to determine if debtor is delinquent

  • Contact third parties such as courts, trustees, debtor’s attorneys, or clients for payment issue clarification, and resolution

  • Review, analyze, and enter debtor and trustee payment information in client system of record and company bankruptcy application

  • Complete a referral package including payment reconciliation ledger and supporting legal documentation such as Deeds of Trusts, Notes, and Assignments

  • Refer the bankruptcy file to designated local counsel for filing of motions necessary based on financial audit results

  • Review court docket and case information via electronic case monitoring to promptly determine when attorney action is required and refer to local counsel as necessary

  • Complete comprehensive payment audits upon notification of bankruptcy discharge

  • Monitor and complete tasks associated with opening and closing a bankruptcy workstation in both the client and company systems

  • Responsible for ownership of bankruptcy related functions such as Trustee Notice of Final Cure, Payment Change Notifications, and Notice of Fees and Costs responses

  • Respond to routine inquiries from clients, attorneys, vendors, and internal departments regarding files assigned

  • Review, analyze, and take appropriate action on all mail relevant to client and file worked

  • Complete Motions for Relief and Affidavits quickly and accurately per client criteria

  • Other duties may be assigned as the above is representative, but not all-inclusive of the required duties of this position


  • Effective organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a high-volume production environment

  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities


  • High school diploma or GED with 2-4 years of Bankruptcy, Mortgage Servicing or Accounting experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Thorough understanding of the bankruptcy process, escrow, suspense, and mortgage concepts preferred
