Responsibilities and Opportunities Offered: The office is interviewing for a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) in the Asset Recovery Division (ARD). The ARD is responsible for the collection of federal debts and the forfeiture of assets related to criminal activity. The SAUSA will represent the United States in criminal and civil cases before the United States District Court focusing on the collection of financial debts owed to the United States, including the initiation of civil enforcement actions. In addition to handling cases, the successful candidate will work alongside other attorneys, conduct legal research, write briefs, represent the government in court, and take depositions. The SAUSA will receive substantial training in all of the above areas.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree and must be licensed to practice law in any state, U.S. Territory or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be active members in good standing of the bar (any jurisdiction).
Preferred Qualifications: The successful applicant will possess the following: (1) sound judgment and a strong work ethic; (2) the ability to work independently and efficiently; (3) the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with other lawyers and support staff; (4) strong skills in legal analysis, research and writing; (5) the ability to analyze complex legal and factual issues; (6) the ability to analyze corporate, trust and employment records; and (7) strong organizational skills.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
