Position Responsibilities\Requirements:

FIS is seeking applicants for full-time temporary positions as a contract attorney in the Legal Department in the Jacksonville, FL or Orlando, FL corporate offices. This is intended for entry-level applicants (i.e., recent law school graduates) and is a temporary position. The attorney will review and analyze legal contract documentation for information and technology services contracts, software licenses, and other outsourcing and information services agreements for financial institutions and other business entities, and identify and summarize key contract data and information for electronic records. The attorney will also assist in researching legal contract issues. The attorney will work directly with senior FIS attorneys on at least one significant legal research project that will include preparation of legal memoranda, with senior attorneys providing critiques to assist with improving legal writing skills. Senior members of the FIS Legal Department will also offer a series of presentations to the attorneys on in-house legal functions and topics of general interest to in-house attorneys.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school, as well as a minimum of 1+ year of legal work experience (summer clerkships, legal externships and internships included). Bar admission is not required. Candidates must have strong analytical and organizational skills and a good attention to detail. Candidates should also have a good understanding of basic contract principles; familiarity with technology legal issues is helpful but not required. Candidates must have strong computer skills and be able to learn new information technology systems with ease. Writing and communication skills are also helpful, as the attorneys must work collaboratively with colleagues.
