Purpose and Objectives
This role provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of a dynamic SAP Global Field Legal Team.
The position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and will report to Southeast Asia General Counsel, based in Singapore. The position will provide all legal and contractual matters for the Organization in the South-East Asian countries and will also be closely aligned and interface regularly with SAP APJ/Global Legal and the business teams of South East Asia.
Expectations and Tasks
Provide strong contracting and legal support to the Sales Team in South East Asia and other members of the South East Asia Management Team on all business operations and activities of organization's in South East Asia.Provide effective legal support to the sales / consulting / education & training team in RFP responses, contract preparation and negotiation.
Draft contract templates for all lines of business of the organization.
Work closely with revenue recognition, finance, pricing and product specialist teams to ensure that the contracts are in compliance with company’s policies and approved commercial terms.
Manage RFP / Tender issues with the customers, especially with public sector and government customer.Provide general legal advice and support to other functions e.g. human resources, finance, IT, admin, corporate services, research & development, procurement, real estate & facilities management etc.
This position may need to travel within Asia Pacific Region as per business requirements
The candidate should have an excellent academic background with a Law Degree from a reputable university / institution.
He / she should be qualified in Indonesia or a common law jurisdiction with 5 to 6 years post-qualification experience and preferably with exposure to IT /Software Industry/ Cloud industry.
The candidate must have excellent communication, negotiation and team management skills. Knowledge of IRFS / US GAAP and international accounting norms / guidelines will be preferred.
Ability to draft and close commercial agreements (software license, cloud services, consulting services and other commercial contracts) independently and efficiently;
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with the business team and with senior management team
High level of energy; dynamic; go-getter; multi-task and prioritize work, creative, proactive, accountable, responsible attitude, results-oriented thinker.
Fluent in both written and spoken English. Ability to converse with Bahasa Indonesia speaking stakeholders would be an advantage.
