Job Description

  • Handles Human Resource Management responsibilities, including but not limited to recruiting, selection, training and development, performance evaluation, salary administration, employee relations and disciplining.

  • Manages staff in all activities relating to the defense of lawsuits and against GEICO insureds in liability cases, and on behalf of GEICO in

  • UM/UIM, PIP and Subrogation suits.

  • Represents GEICO insureds in liability cases, and GEICO in UM/UIM, PIP and Subrogation suits filed in courts of limited and unlimited jurisdiction.

  • Travels to attend trials, hearings, arbitration's, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

  • Reviews office reports and implements changes to improve office metrics to meet the goals of the Department.

  • In conjunction with the Director of Staff Counsel and others as applicable, implements the policies and procedures of the Department and ensures compliance.

  • Keeps the Director/AVP informed of significant developments; consults with the Director on priority and complex issues and resource requirements.

  • Creates a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation and collaboration between and among staff and claims.


  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in personal injury litigation and demonstrated trial ability and successful performance as the attorney with primary trial responsibility in cases of high severity and complexity.

  • Licensed to practice law and Bar membership in good standing in the State of Florida.

  • Superb organization skills with strong follow-through and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional analytical, writing, computer and speaking skills.

  • Must be able to travel as required, including but not limited, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
