Kforce Contract Attorney in New York, New York

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Contract Attorney in New York, NY.Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Research and analyze laws, rules, and other legal developments that impact Commercial Banking

  • Work with Regulatory legal team on firm-wide project to document legal and regulatory requirements and assess applicability and impact

  • Act as active contributor to Commercial Banking legal and regulatory change management process

  • Compare simplified documents to existing documentation to identify legal and business issues

  • Liaise with external vendors and internal lawyers in reviewing contracts and other onboarding document targeted for simplification

  • Assist in preparation of materials for presentations to senior Commercial Banking business and legal executives

  • Work with project management team to track internal deadlines to maintain project schedules

  • Juris Doctor degree (candidate must be a licensed attorney in good standing (New York preferred)) with a minimum of 2 years of experience at a medium/large law firm, FRB, OCC, FDIC, CFPB, or SEC

  • Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to listen and drive results in a team setting

  • Experience drafting, revising and negotiating contracts

  • Effective and efficient problem solver; strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Self-starter; ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines

  • Experience with Westlaw or similar on-line tools

  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly and easily learn new programs
