Minimum Qualifications

We are seeking an attorney with a minimum of ten (10) years of New York State prosecutorial experience, including significant investigative experience, such as writing eavesdropping and search warrants. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing complex, document-intensive cases. The candidate must also possess excellent writing skills and have substantial grand jury and trial experience. An insurance background is not necessary, but is a plus.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment. ## Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced attorney for the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit (AIFU) located in Manhattan. AIFU is a unit within the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau and has statewide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute criminal acts relating to auto insurance fraud and related crimes, including investigations into corrupt doctors, lawyers, healthcare providers, auto body shops, insurance brokers and participants in staged accidents. Related investigations include the prosecution of tax fraud and other white collar offenses. AIFU includes attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts who conduct complex, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction. ## Additional Comments Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
