The Company is seeking to hire a senior legal counsel to join its Global Workplace Solutions legal team. The position will be based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, negotiate and draft contracts and transactional documentation related to global commercial real estate services, including facilities management, project management, transaction management and consulting services.

  • Identify and assess legal and risks issues.

  • Develop understanding of key insurance products and risk management principles.

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to executives, managers and other employees on legal aspects of the Global Workplace Solutions business line.

  • Maintain current knowledge of the law in areas of special interest to the business.

  • Conduct legal training sessions and assist in the preparation of training materials.

  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • J.D. from ABA accredited university.

  • Member of New York State Bar in good standing.

  • 8 years of private practice and/or in-house experience.

Key Skills and Strengths:

  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts and transactions, with a preference to professionals who have experience with corporate outsourcing (real estate or IP), mergers and acquisitions or complex real estate or financial transactions.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving and drafting skills. Confidence to escalate issues appropriately to supervisors and business decision makers.

  • Ability to isolate complex legal issues and provide prompt, concise and commercially focused legal advice, while balancing risks and benefits to the Company.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities with excellent follow-up skills and organization.

  • Willingness to work on tight timeframes at a fast pace, including occasionally accommodating different time zones on global transactions.

  • Ability to develop solid relationships with clients and establish productive working relationships with opposing counsel.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cooperative effort with the overall legal team and Global Workplace Solutions business.
