Position Purpose:

Holy Cross Health seeks an Associate to provide direction, guidance, and assistance on a variety of legal and compliance matters in service of the Holy Cross Health Integrity & Compliance Department and Legal Department. The Associate will support the work of the General Counsel and the Integrity & Compliance Officer, two senior executives with a direct reporting line to the President & CEO. The Associate will serve as a resource to leadership, colleagues, and others throughout the health system, which includes hospitals and other facilities in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Job Description Details:

The Associate must possess the ability to work independently on routine matters and to prioritize diverse legal and compliance assignments, including the independent management of designated projects. The Associate will have two or more years of healthcare or compliance practice experience in a law firm or in the legal or compliance department of an acute care hospital or two or more years of other relevant experience. The Associate must be a Juris Doctor with working knowledge and understanding of the health care industry's regulatory environment and demonstrated legal capability, including in the drafting and negotiating of contracts as well as Stark and Anti-Kickback legal and compliance issues. Knowledge of institutional review boards, corporate governance, and HIPAA privacy is preferred.
