Our client is seeking a Residential Real Estate Paraprofessional (Law Clerk/Paralegal) to join the Real Estate Department in their Guelph office. Primary Duties: - Complete residential transactions from beginning to end, potentially including: purchases, sales; multi residential; condo; and builder unit sales; - Read and interpret title and off title searches including identifying requisitions and responses to requisitions; - Draft, organize and coordinate signature of all necessary closing documents including transaction documents, prepare or review closing agenda, complete status reports, final reports and following up of post-closing matters; - Manage a large workload volume with competing deadlines; - Manage and meet strict deadlines; - Problem solve and make recommendations for solutions, with minimal supervision; - Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Knowledge: - Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Real Estate law clerk role within a legal environment; - Solid understanding of current legal terminology; - Strong organizational and time management skills; - Proficient ability to multi-task and handle competing deadlines and demands; - Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and follow instructions with minimal direction and supervision; - Ability to work well within a team environment; - Superior communication skills and strong ability to adapt communication style, as necessary, when communicating with clients and other team members; - Ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients, opposing parties, third-parties and other team members; - Strong computer skills including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Teraview and Conveyancer; and - Ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative.
