Position Description McKesson's well regarded General Counsel Organization is seeking a senior attorney to provide legal services as business unit counsel for the CoverMyMeds (CMM) business. CMM is a technology company offering solutions and services to retail, mail order, payers, pharmacy benefit managers, hospitals, and health systems pharmacies. CMM's solutions help patients receive the medication they need, including processing electronic prior authorizations. CMM is a business unit of McKesson Corporation, which touches over 50,000 pharmacies, 700,000 physicians, 500 electronic medical records vendors and many leading payers. McKesson is in business for better health. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting strategic initiatives, product development and overseeing the technology licensing work for the business and managing members of the contracting legal team. The position will be located in Columbus, Ohio or Atlanta, GA. Qualifications Minimum Requirements 10+ years of experience providing legal counsel to clients. Critical Skills Comprehensive commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills In-depth legal knowledge that allows for expeditious problem identification and resolution Strong business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvy Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to provide sound clear legal advice to clients Ability to manage simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters Proven ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work in fast-paced dynamic environment Additional Knowledge & Skills Candidates with experience in the following areas will be strongly considered: Software and technology licensing Healthcare regulations HIPAA and state privacy laws Education Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials.
