Paralegal/Administrative Assistance We are seeking a Paralegal/Administrative Assistant to join our Des Moines office. This position provides both paralegal and administrative assistance to attorneys and performs an important role in assisting with the day to day tasks. Essential duties include:
Managing the complete records process which includes requesting, summarizing, indexing and producing records summaries
Assisting with discovery matters, including drafting discovery and obtaining documentation for response to discovery requests
Drafting deposition summaries
Case file management
Providing backup administrative support to the workers' compensation department, including transcription, drafting of correspondence and filing of documents in both paper and electronic management systems
Keeping up to date on firm and legal industry policies and procedures as they relate to the above duties
General office duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements: Requirements include:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate/ Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred
Minimum of one year of workers' compensation experience preferred, although not required
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to effectively manage a high volume case load
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deal effectively with all clients, internally and externally
Self starter with an excellent sense of initiative, follow through, and willingness to work hard
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
