KidZania USA Associate Counsel in Frisco, Texas

Position Summary

The Associate Counsel will oversee all legal aspects of the company. The attorney will provide legal advice/negotiation for complex business contracts and transactions, while ensuring that the company strictly follows legal guidelines and maintains compliance with applicable laws. Must maintain relationships with outside counsels, and participate in the management of risks and expense as well as cost effective expenditure with outside counsel.

Responsibilities

Serves as primary legal advisor in negotiating critical contracts and complex business transactions.

Prepares legal documents, forms, agreements and contracts according to the business needs and ensures they are reviewed and approved by necessary parties.

Provides accurate and timely responses to executives on a variety of legal topics (real estate, labor law, partnerships, corporate finance, etc.).

Maintain a strong network of outside legal experts in various disciplines, ability to delegate and manage projects through these resources when additional experience is needed on a specific contract or case.

Maintains current knowledge of legal regulations, and ensures adherence to legal compliance guidelines.

Communicates and negotiates with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), building trustworthy relationships.

Assists in deciphering legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization as needed.

Reviews and provides advice on press releases and other corporate communications about the company, products, services and activities.

Additional Responsibilities

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Education

Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school required. Admitted to and in good standing with the ABA and Texas Bar Association.

Work Experience

Minimum five (5) years of relevant legal experience with demonstrated competency in areas of law specialization such as Corporate Business Law.

Experience with Contracts, Commercial Leases, Labor Law and Unemployment Law is highly preferred.

Prior work experience in both a law firm and in-house environment is strongly desired.
