We are looking for a Paralegal to support its Legal Department. The Paralegal will work closely with our business lines across the China Region and the Head of Legal Asia.
The role will focus on construction and engineering laws and offer broad experience of professional consultancy appointments and other commercial contracts. The Legal Department work very closely with the business in a pro-active, practical and collaborative way.
The role will include:
drafting, amending and checking contracts;
preparing memorandum of comments on contract provisions;
liaising with engineers and other commercial managers;
assisting with the contract negotiation process;
assisting qualified lawyers with organization and payment of external lawyers-related invoices through the Tracker/Serengeti system;
assisting qualified lawyers with organization of contract documents and production of contract summaries;
file management and administrative tasks; and
providing ad-hoc support to qualified lawyers within the team
Working in a team environment, represent and exemplify WSP’s brand statements in all activities
To be successful in this role WSP would like to hear from candidates with the following:
Previous paralegal or other similar construction and engineering law experience at a law firm and/or large corporation ideally within construction and engineering is preferred.
Self-motivated candidate who possesses the ability to anticipate legal department needs, work under pressure, and handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various departments and levels within the China Region.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese
Immediate availability is preferred.
Experience with Tracker/Serengeti or similar invoicing system is preferred.
