Saint Dominic's Home ADOPTION DIRECTOR (Bronx) in United States

The position will coordinate all functions related to adoption and supervise the Legal Unit (Legal Case Planner and Legal Case Aide). The Legal unit prepares all TPR packets, KinGAP applications, and correspondences for children placed via Interstate Compacts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reviews regulations/standards and monitors compliance.

Supervise the Legal Case Planner and Legal Case Aide

Assists with training of foster parents/adoptive parents and staff as necessary.

Devise, implement and track agency’s strategy to achieve yearly adoption goals.

Review Adoption Consultants’ home studies to ensure that they reach Courts as grammatically error-free and contain-accurate documents.

Respond to all queries and/or request(s) from courts relevant to adoptions filed.

Complete homes study updates and addendums.

Work with Caseworkers and Supervisors to ensure that cases on assigned caseloads are expeditiously prepared for filing.

Complete and submit Adoption Subsidy packages to ACS for approval.

Interact with all attorneys before and after the filing of adoptions to ensure timely finalizations.

Responsible to prepare bi-weekly adoption reports for ACS.

Attend the ACS sponsored Adoption Exchange meetings.

To serve as a liaison between the agency and ACS, OCFS, Court, agency lawyers, subcontractors and all relevant parties associated with the adoption process.

To attend all scheduled adoptions on behalf of the agency.

To assist with coordinating staff trainings on the Adoption Process.

To be current and knowledgeable surrounding TPR/Kingap/Adoption

Meet monthly with Unit Supervisors to strategize permanency plans in regards to TPR's and KinGap

Education & Experience

Bachelors required; MSW or a related Master’s degree preferred LMSW preferred, 5 years Child Welfare Adoption experience and 3 years supervisory experience working in the Child welfare Adoption field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
