Job Description

The Office of the General Counsel is seeking a Legal Operations Specialist to help drive operational performance in the Legal Operations team. The Office of the General Counsel is responsible for oversight of the Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit Functions.This role will report directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance Operations in the Legal Department. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the in-house legal and compliance functions, act as a trusted and reliable knowledge resource for attorneys and administrative staff, build and manage relationships with internal staff and external vendors, be able to create impactful metrics and reports, develop and administer technology solutions, and improve current processes.Responsibilities include assisting the Head of Legal & Compliance Operations, as appropriate, with activities such as:Data/Analytics/Technology

Track Headcount Changes on the Legal, Compliance, & IA employee roster; act as liaison with HR

Maintain Legal Org Chart

Manage Attorney Time Studies (in coordination with Finance)

Market Data and Benchmarking analyses

TeamConnect (“TC”) Ebilling and Matter Management Administration

  • Build and maintain reports in TC

  • Support attorneys and admins with TC help

  • Act as an escalation point for outside law firms

  • Train staff and field questions on TeamConnect

Legal Department Management

Legal Department Manual

  • Build and maintain the legal dept. manual (for new and existing Legal colleagues)

  • Coordinate with Communications teams

Vendor Management

  • Act as a relationship manager along with the Head of Legal & Compliance Operations for law firms

  • Maintain favorable pricing and manage renewals

  • Assist with vendor RFPs and coordinate with Vendor Risk Management teams

Legal Projects

  • Point of contact with HR, Finance, and IT on cross-functional projects or initiatives

  • Provide support for smaller-scale legal projects


  • Improve and administer onboarding process for new staff

Business Continuity

  • Oversee maintenance of our Legal Dept. Disaster Recovery Plan


  • BA/BS required

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, operations, technology, or economics

  • Have an intellectual curiosity, a desire to learn, and a drive to improve current processes

  • Ability to learn technology and software skills quickly

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple critical projects

  • Understanding of matter management or ebilling

  • Strong financial management and analytical skills

  • Project management and problem solving skills with superior attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Be proactive, with an ability to operate independently

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with key strengths in PowerPoint and Excel
